Indicator Reference

An indicator describes an observable signal of organisational infrastructure. Each indicator:

  • Has a stable concept ID (e.g., NDI-2cdbgj) derived deterministically from its name
  • Is versioned — a new version is created when criteria change, but the concept ID stays the same
  • Is assessed using one or more evidence categories (inferred, declared, validated)
  • Is organised into one or more domains via the taxonomy

Every indicator exists at two levels:

id: NDI-xxxxxx
normalized_name: "short normalized name used for ID generation"
title: Short, clear indicator title
